Autonomous Warfare: American AI Ground Vehicles Join the Fight in Ukraine

Neo-Defense technology has officially crossed the threshold from testing to active combat deployment. The U.S. Army, through partnerships with companies like Forterra, has deployed over 100 autonomous all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) to Ukraine. These systems are designed to tackle the "last tactical mile"—the most dangerous segment of the supply chain where human drivers are frequently targeted by drones and artillery. By removing the soldier from the driver's seat, these autonomous ground vehicles (AGVs) are transforming how frontline units are resupplied.

This deployment is a live-fire test for autonomous warfare. These vehicles must navigate GPS-denied environments, avoid obstacles in war-torn terrain, and resist electronic warfare jamming. Beyond logistics, the Pentagon is also accelerating the development of AI-powered counter-drone systems like the "Bullfrog," which uses autonomous targeting to neutralize aerial threats. As conflict zones become increasingly saturated with low-cost loitering munitions, the integration of autonomous systems is no longer a luxury—it is a requirement for survival on the modern battlefield.
