The Rise of the AI Factory: NVIDIA’s Push into Physical AI with LG and Doosan
NVIDIA is deepening its collaboration with South Korean giants LG and Doosan to create 'AI Factories.' These infrastructures integrate generative AI with physical systems to revolutionize manufacturing, logistics, and heavy industry operations.
The boundary between the digital and physical worlds is eroding as NVIDIA scales its "Physical AI" initiative through massive industrial partnerships. Recent collaborations with South Korea’s LG Group and Doosan Group are transforming theoretical AI models into "AI Factories"—high-performance computing environments designed to govern physical operations in real-time. Unlike traditional software-only AI, Physical AI requires the seamless integration of robotics, complex sensors, and GPU-driven cloud services to interact with the world.
With LG, NVIDIA is focused on accelerating mobility and infrastructure, creating a feedback loop where data from autonomous devices informs the training of increasingly sophisticated models. Meanwhile, the partnership with Doosan Group targets heavy industry. By integrating NVIDIA’s AI stack with Doosan’s robotics and Bobcat construction equipment, the companies aim to automate environments that were previously too unpredictable for machines. These AI Factories represent a shift toward "sovereign AI" infrastructure, where corporations and nations build localized, high-security ecosystems to manage their physical assets and manufacturing pipelines.
